Aaron Einyck led off the seventh inning with a towering homer to left as the Flames beat the Lakers 4-1 at Farming.
Lake Henry took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth, before the Flames fought back to tie the ballgame in the bottom half of the inning. Mitchell Thelen led off with a single, and went to second on a single by Aaron Einyck. Brad Mergen hit into a force play at second, with Mitchell advancing to third. Chris Wehseler was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Mitchell scored on Craig Klein's sharp single.
In the seventh, Aaron Einyck's homer to left gave Farming the lead for good. After the next two men went out, Farming added an additional run when Taylor Fourre's single drove in Craig Klein giving the Flames a 3-1 lead.
Farming added an insurance run in the eight when Cody Fourre led off with a single, and later scored on a single by Chris Wehseler.
On the mound, Brad Mergen went all nine innings for the Flames, surrending just five hits, six walks and 11 strikeouts. It was Brad's ninth win of the year, which leads the Stearns County League.
With the win, Farming guarantees a spot in next weekend's Region 15C tournament, to be held at Paynesville.
