The Farming ballpark, which has been in its current location since 1946, will receive a new name on Saturday night. Schleper Bros Field honors Joe, Urban, Eddie, Paul, and Elmer Schleper, all of whom have played baseball for the Flames going back to 1938. However, the entire Schelper family made not only a generous donation towards the lights that went up this past winter, but have supported the club in a variety of ways since its inception. 58 Schleper family members kicked in money, including a single donation of $25,000.
The dedication will take place around 7:30pm, following by the ballgame with the Elrosa Saints at 8:00pm. Come out and celebrate the Schleper family, the field, and take in a ballgame. The weather is supposed to be good, and it should be a terrific evening in the history of Farming baseball.
Congratulations and thank you to the Schleper family!
