The Rockes scored 12 unanswered runs as they defetated the Flames 16-8 in an exhibition game on Friday night.
After falling behind 3-0 early, Farming rallied to take the lead. Dylan Panek and Zach Kaltes each had RBI singles in the second inning to cut the Rockes lead to one, then Chris Weseler's RBI single in the third scored Craig Klein to tie the game at 3-3.
In the bottom of the fifth, Farming took its firs lead with a three run rally. Craig Klein's single to right scored Aaron Einyck from second, and Brad Mergen's single scored Craig. Brad scored later in the inning on Cody Fourre's infield single, giving Farming a 6-4 lead.
Farming regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one man out, Zach Kaltes and Chad Mergen hit back-to-back singles. A force out put runners on first and third. Eric Schmitt stole second base, and Zach scored on an error by the second basemen. Another error by the third baseman scored Eric, and the Flames led 8-7 after six. The Rockies ralled in the late innings to seal the victory.
Chad Mergen went the first four innings for Farming, followed by Dylan Panek in the fith and Cody Fourre in the seventh.
Next up for Farming is the home SCL opener on Saturday night vs. Lake Henry. Gametime is 8:00pm.
