Farming picked up its fifth win in the past seven games with an 8-2 thrashing of Roscoe on Friday night at Farming.
After picking up single runs in the first and second innings, the Flames blew things open in the middle innings. Cody Fourre's clutch two out single scored two runs in the fourth, putting Farming up 4-0. The Flames put up four more in the fifth on a Taylor Fourre hits, scoring Aaron Einyck; a double by Tylor Schroeder scoring Taylor Fourre and Eric Schmitt; and another double by Cody Fourre, scoring pinch runner Kyle Lieser.
Farming pounded out 16 hits on the evening and committed just one error in the field. It was probably Farming's best overall performance of the season.
Kyle Zierden starting for the Flames, pitching the first six innings giving up just a run on one hit. Kyle pitched five no-hit innings to start the ballgame. Tylor Schroeder pitched the seventh and eighth, and Brad Mergen pitched the ninth.
With the win, Farming improves it record in the SCL South to 3-8. Next up is a road tilt with Elrosa on Friday, July 13, 7:30pm.
