Farming advanced into the 15C Region Tournament on Sunday morning, defeating New Munich 11-4 in a game played at Richmond.
As they’ve done in two of their previous first three Region 15C games, Farming scored in the first inning. Taylor Fourre led off with a walk and Isaac Nett’s single sent Taylor to third. Ethan avratil’s single scored Taylor, and sent Isaac to third. Tylor Schroeder grounded out, scoring Isaac.
In the fifth, Nick Mergen’s clutch two-out single scored Ethan Navratil from second, cutting the Silverstreaks’ lead to 4-3.
In the sixth, Zach Kaltes drilled a ball to right for a double, narrowly missing a homerun. Aaron Einyck sacrificed Zach to third, and Carey Shay came in to run for Zach. Austin Arceneau laid down a great bunt, reaching first and scoring Carey to tie the game. Cody Fourre singled to right with Austin going to second. Isaac Nett hit into a fielders choice, putting runners on 1st and 3rd. Nett stole second. Ethan Navratil drilled a single to right, scoring both Austin and Nett, giving Farming the lead.
In the seventh, Farming blew the game open with another three runs and added another in the eighth to seal the 11-4 win.
For Farming, Adam Winkels started and went the first four innings before being relieved by Ethan Navratil in the fifth. Ethan pitched well during the final five innings and got the win.
Win the win, Farming advances to play Lake Henry at 1:30pm for the Region 15C Championship. Go Flames!
